The Seville City Council has already launched a collaborative strategy with the Norwegian shipping company Fred Olsen for 2018 to strengthen its position as a leading river cruise destination. The company will have a greater presence on the Guadalquivir River with new ports of call and increased frequency.
Although of Norwegian nationality, the Fred Olsen company focuses on the British market, and since its ships are of medium draft, they can easily reach the heart of Seville, where they usually arrive with their luxury ship Braemar, a regular at the city's typical festivals.
During this year of 2017 there were six stopovers in Seville of the Braemar, with an average of 840 tourists on board, mostly from the United Kingdom, and 391 crew members.
This ship will depart from Southampton again on April 14th for a 14-night cruise, spending two nights in Seville to coincide with the April Fair. Here is the itinerary and price from the company's website.
Departing from the port of Southampton, there will be a day of sailing to La Pallice, in France and two nights will be spent in Bordeaux. Then, after four days of navigation, you will reach the port of Seville where there will be a two-day stopover. After three days of navigation, you will arrive in France, at the port of Rouen, with two days to visit the city and its surroundings. And from there I return to Sothampton. The price of this cruise per person is 1.978 euros, according to the website of the shipping company.
One of the features of this ship, the Braemar, is that it has a large selection of single cabins, which is not usual in shipping companies and even less so in river destinations, in addition to ample open spaces, which create a very relaxed atmosphere on board.
Although I have told you about this April cruise, which coincides with the Fair, March 2018 will be the first time that the Braemar arrives in the Sevillian capital.
