Types of cabins and cabins that you can choose on a cruise

When you go on a cruise you will have seen that the same trip has different prices depending on the type of cabin you choose. To make it easier for you to decide, I want to explain a bit how many types the shipping companies usually offer, and if you want more information about how many people can stay in them you can consult this link.

It may happen that a cabin of the same category has a different price depending on the deck where it is located.

Generally These are the four types of cabins that will be offered to you:

  • Interiors
  • Exterior
  • Exteriors with balcony or higher
  • Suites

I detail some characteristics. Inside cabins are the cheapest. They are located in the interior of the boat and do not have a window, but otherwise they have the same comforts as an outside one. An advantage is that movements are less noticeable in them.

The exterior cabins have a porthole or window, so natural light enters them and you can see the sea from the cabin.

The exterior cabins with balcony or superiors are the same as the exterior cabins but with a small balcony or terrace. They are usually furnished with a small table and chairs.

The suites are the most expensive cabins, and in them there is everything: Jacuzzi, pool, lounge, private terrace and just about anything you can imagine.

All cabins have at least a double bed that is divided into two single beds, air conditioning, bathroom with shower, wardrobe, interactive TV, telephone, minibar and safe.

When booking a cruise keep in mind that you are going to spend a lot of time outside your cabin, where you will practically only go to sleep, because all the entertainment, restaurants, and other activities are outside of it. I personally prefer to make the difference in price by booking in restaurants or in more number of excursions, but of course, this is my option.
