In this fair, which closes today, more than 2.500 congressmen from 73 countries are participating, in addition to important executives from different shipping companies, 500 exhibitors and national and international port authorities.
Throughout the Seatrade Cruise Med conferences have been held to learn about the guidelines for the near future of the cruise industry, which at this time seems to be experiencing significant growth, with numerous orders for mega-ships to the shipyards, in addition to the challenges you face, including environmental and ecological impact that, on the so-called Atlantic corridor, has the influx of ships, or the saturation of some cities.
Regarding the more local influence, on the port of Tenerife, the advantages of its geographical location, as well as the climate and other wonders of the island, have been enhanced in the different exhibitions, which can become a base port for large companies in the sector .
The national director of CLIA Spain, Alfredo Serrano, gave the figure that the cruise sector moved more than 23 million tourists last year.
For its part, the Port Authority of Tenerife, Ricardo Melchior, published a collaboration agreement with the port of Livorno, the third in importance of Italy. In this sense A collaboration agreement has also been signed with the Port of Malaga, second Spanish port by number of cruise passengers in the Peninsula. which guarantees the enhancement of Atlantic routes in which both ports are the headwaters.
