River cruise through Russia, a tour of beautiful cities and landscapes

River cruise

Some friends just got back from a russian cruise, and they have been so delighted that they have infected me with their joy and I can not do anything but share it. Your journey aboard the Annabelle PrincessIt has been a journey through the canals, reservoirs, lakes and rivers that link the Russian capitals.

In addition to enjoying the comfort and pleasure of sailing, they enjoyed the historic cities of Saint Petersburg and Moscow, as well as the impressive landscapes of the Ladoga and Onega lakes, the Volga River.

The journey started from Moscow, where on the first day they were given a panoramic tour of the Russian capital from a bus. Then they had a few free hours to walk around it. The next day was devoted to a visit to the Kremlin, and in the afternoon free time. That night they had dinner on the ship and after spending the night on board they left for Uglich, where they arrived after lunch.

After a walk through this beautiful and historic city, with a guide included, they returned to the ship, to have dinner and go to Goritsy, famous for the architectural ensemble of the female monastery of the Resurrection from the XNUMXth century.

The next morning they headed for kizhi, a beautiful island of great Finnish influence where they could visit its open-air museum, and admire churches, chapels, Russian saunas, houses, barns and many other constructions, including the symbol of the museum.

The next day it was time to reach Mandrogui / Svirstroy, navigating the Lake Ladoga and the Onega across the river Svir. Arrive to mandrogui, where they were given a traditional Russian lunch that my friends won't forget for decades. After it, they returned to the ship and then headed for Saint Petersburg. That night the farewell cocktail was held with the captain.

In the morning breakfast on board, visit panoramic to Saint Petersburg, the one they call the Venice of the North, and a tour of its streets. They had the afternoon free after a busy schedule of visits and after spending the night on board they prepared for the visit to the Hermitage. Rest of the day free for optional excursions or visit the city on your own. My friends decided to rest and prepare things to go back to Spain, but I know they would have loved to stay a lot longer.
