The World, the ship of the most exclusive millionaires, is in Hong Kong

Some time that another I have already written about this ship of millionaires, The World, which can be considered the most exclusive “residential yacht” in the world. And it is that their suites are not rented but are owned by those who travel in it.

By the way this year, these millionaires are now in Hong Kong, and have already traveled to the Ross Sea in Antarctica, Melanesia, near New Guinea in Oceania. By the end of 2017 they will have visited Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands, Hawaii, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Canada, Alaska, Mexico and Central America, surrounding Miami.

As you can imagine, it is not easy to have a residence at The World, you cannot even enter if you are not invited. Each of its 165 apartments on board, spread over 12 floors, cost between 3 and 15 million dollars, those with 3 bedrooms.

But money is not everything, and it is that Apart from the capital, whoever buys it must have a net worth of at least 10 million dollars, to be accepted there are some requirements such as discretion, which are taken into account. At this point 142 unidentified families have residence on the ship. Almost half of those who live on this ship are North American, there are 45 European families and another 20 from South Africa.

As a rule, six months are spent on the ship, and when there are the most people it is at Christmas, when many owners invite their families and friends on board.

Continuing with the route and the itinerary, expeditions are held three times a year at The World. These are trips to off-the-beaten-path destinations, which are joined by prominent ecologists and academics who, through talks, breakfasts and field trips stimulate educational discussions about the destination.

A curiosity about this boat is that When it was inaugurated 15 years ago, the idea was about to fail, and it is that at first the rooms on the sixth floor were going to be used as a hotel, something that did not seem to appeal to such an exclusive clientele.
