Viking Jupiter, the ship that will travel through South America and the Chilean fjords in 2019

Landscape of Chilean Patagonia

Less than a week ago we learned that Viking Ocean Cruises' new ship, the sixth cruise ship in its fleet, will be called Viking Jupiter. This boat will be built in 2018, it will start sailing next year, and in its 227 meters long and 28 meters wide, it will have the possibility to comfortably accommodate 930 passengers.

On the shipping company page you can already see the cruises that are proposed on board the Viking Jupiter, among which one stands out for Northern Europe and the Mediterranean and the magnificent South Atlantic Crossing, a 22-day trip departing from the port of Barcelona and bound for Buenos Aires.

Apart from these two cruises a cruise titled South America and the Chilean fjords is marketed. It is a 18-day crossing from the Argentine capital to Valparaíso. By the way, the Viking Cruises shipping company has confirmed this Chilean port as the base port for its new vessel.

Continuing with the idea of this magnificent trip through the Southern Cone, which will depart on December 4, 2019 from Buenos Aires (if you don't think I was wrong, it takes more than a year for it to start) heading to Montevideo, from where it will return to Argentine territory, to Puerto Madryn.

Then it will continue towards the Malvinas Islands, from there to move to the southern port of Ushuaia. Then it will reach the southern coasts of Chile, with stopover in Punta Arenas, where excursions to the Antarctic attractions of the area have been programmed, including the Amalia glacier, which you can also find under the name Skua Glaciar, located in the Bernardo O'Higgins National Park.

After touring the fjords the Viking Jupiter will dock at Montt port, from where excursions to the island of Chiloé have been organized, after continuing navigation the trip ends in Valparaíso. Cruise passengers who so wish will be able to travel to the vineyards of the Casablanca Valley or to Santiago.
